East London's Daily Dispatch is one of the oldest South African broadsheets, made famous during the days of apartheid in the movie Cry Freedom, the story of editor Donald Woods' flight to safety after the death in detention of black activist Steve Biko. Tony Sutton worked with Stephen Haw, of the Johannesburg Sunday Times, to redesign the broadsheet daily and plan a new Saturday tabloid for the Eastern Cape city.
